Pastors
The biblical qualifications for pastors are found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9. Pastors (also called elders and overseers in Scripture) are responsible to know, lead, feed, protect, and care for God’s flock, the church.

Deacons
The biblical qualifications for deacons are found in [biblegateway passage=”1 Timothy 3:8-13″]. You can also find the beginning of the New Testament office of deacon in Acts 6:1-7. Deacons serve the church and the elders by taking on many of the administrative details of the church so that the elders can primarily stay focused on shepherding the church through faithful leading, teaching, and prayer, all according to God’s Word.
